House Rules

Updated 26 October 2021

We are in a residential area and we need to respect our neighbours if we are to retain their support. Also, we are a community of disparate individuals and we need to respect each other if we are to get along and make this project a success therefore please abide by these rules at all times.

Please note that these rules may be changed from time to time and by making use of the facility you agree to abide by all these rules. Rule changes will be posted here and a copy of the rules will also be displayed in the facility. It is your responsibility to keep abreast of any changes. When in doubt, common decency and mutual respect should see you through.

Please keep noise to a minimum. Whilst you are free to listen to music, watch movies etc on your own devices please make sure you do not interfere with other guests or our neighbours. In particular please respect the need for quiet in the evenings from 6 pm. If you have been out partying and have come back late at night please be extra careful not to disturb others.

Should you require laundry facilities, please arrange with us in advance. We cannot be responsible for the laundry and all laundry is undertaken at your own risk regardless of who actually performs the service.

Fees are due by the seventh of the month. Any fees not received by this time will result in memberships being cancelled and your storage facility being emptied. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to sell or otherwise dispose of any of your possessions to defray costs.
Our various payment plans are available for your convenience. Please discuss options with us.
Regardless of the payment plan selected, membership is for a minimum of one year and is assumed to have renewed automatically unless at least three months written notice is received of your intention to cancel your membership. You will be liable for the full year’s fees should you fail to notify us timeously.

It is understood that use of the facility is at your sole risk. We are not responsible for any injury, loss or damage of whatsoever nature, of whatsoever cause.

We are not a licensed establishment and we therefore do not sell alcohol. Should you wish to bring your own drinks you are more than welcome to do so.

For our guests comfort we have designated Priscilla’s as a smoke free area. Should you want to smoke, please do so outside and dispose of any litter yourselves.

It is understood that the storage facilities are for the storage of clothing, wigs, makeup and associated materials. For health and safety reasons, please do not store any foodstuffs, drinks, flammable items, dangerous items or liquids in your storage area.
We reserve the right to inspect lockers from time to time and ensure that this rule is being followed.

For everyone’s safety please do not bring any weapons to Priscilla’s. You are perfectly safe here.

Fires/open flames
Again, for everyone’s safety and security please refrain from making fires or using open flames in or near the facility. Those wigs need to be protected!

Please refrain from bringing any pets with you.

You are free to photograph yourself as much as you like, but please do not photograph anyone else without their express permission. For everyone’s privacy, please do not photograph any areas of the exterior of the facility that are normally visible from the street.

You are welcome to bring guests to the facility but please check in with us first so that we can confirm usage and space availability with you in advance.  Please remember that this is a communal facility and all activities need to be kept decent and above board. No activities should be engaged in on these premises that you would not be able to perform in any other public space.
All guests are bound by the same rules as members and a member’s membership may be terminated should their guest/s break the rules.

Bookings/Use of Facility
All memberships include up to three uses of our permanent facility per month. Use of the facility needs to be booked and it is available on a first come first served basis. We cannot guarantee availability and you can only book the facility a maximum of six weeks in advance. Unused bookings of the facility will incur a penalty of R250 per incident. This is done to prevent people from abusing the system and block booking the facility when they have no intention of using it.
Non-members can book the facility on an ad hoc basis. The cost of this usage will be determined on an ad hoc basis and will depend on length of booking, demand etc.
